Terry R. Myers is an independent critic and curator living in Los Angeles. Currently a contributing editor to Artext, since 1988 his writing has been published in more than twenty-five international journals, as well as in numerous books and exhibition catalogues. Myers has curated several exhibitions, including The Slide Area, James Van Damme Gallery, Brussels (2001); Robert Overby: Parallel, 1978 1969, Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2000); Standing Still and Walking in Los Angeles, Gagosian Gallery, Beverly Hills (1999); and co-curated with Connie Butler, Kay Rosen: lifeli[k]e, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and Otis College of Art and Design Gallery, Los Angeles (1998).
His lecture will highlight two of his forthcoming projects: a book for Thames and Hudson titled New Painting and a retrospective exhibition of the collaborations between the Pet Shop Boys and artists, filmmakers, and architects including Derek Jarman, David Fielding, Sam Taylor-Wood, and Zaha Hadid.
