Robert Riley was recently appointed as the new research curator for new programs at the Nevada Museum of Art. For the past twelve years (1988 2000) he worked at the San Francisco Art Museum, where he established and directed their department of media arts. While working there, he co-curated the exhibitions High-Minded: Conceptual Art in Moving-Image Media (2000), highlighting video and projected-image media from the ’60s to the late ’80s; and Public Information: Desire, Disaster, Document (1995). During this time he also worked with the New Television Workshop as curatorial consultant for a series of artists’ videos, which were then broadcast on public television stations across the nation.
