Trained as a printmaker, Peggy Diggs (born 1946) explores the possibilities for mass dissemination using printmaking in her socially engaged work. Troubled Family Placemats (1999), Sex Bias Shirt Project (1993), and Domestic Violence Milk Carton Project (1992) are examples of what she calls temporary public art opportunities to bring issues such as domestic violence into an open realm for discussion.

She recently exhibited Body Buy-Back, a public wall project on locally researched cosmetic surgery issues, at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, and has held other solo exhibitions at the Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown; the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford; the Alternative Museum, New York; and the Franklin Furnace Archive, New York. Diggs received a BA from George Washington University with the Corcoran School of Art and an MFA from Cranbook Academy of Art.
