The Los Angeles based painter, sculptor, and installation artist Kim Dingle (born 1951) is currently holding a solo exhibition at the Renaissance Society. Art critic Anne Ayres called Dingle’s art “a vision of a bizarre, ordinary, grotesque, cheeful, dubious, matter-of-fact american childhood.” Priss is part of a series that revisits the American west and populates it with pugnacious prepubescent girls.

Dingle’s works are included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego; the San Francisco Museum of Art; the Smithsonian National Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C.; the Norton Family Foundation, Seattle; among others. She earned a BFA from California State University, Los Angeles, and an MFA from Claremont Graduate School.
