Bob Nickas is currently Curatorial Advisor for MoMA PS1 in New York. Nickas is widely regarded for his distinctive exhibition programs and perceptive prose. He was a founding editor of Index magazine and regularly contributes to numerous periodicals and publications such as Artforum and a variety of artists monographs. Nickas is the author of such works as Live Free or Die, After the Observatory, and Collection Diary, a personal chronicle of his 2004 project Collection (or How I Spent a Year).

As an independent curator, Nickas has organized more than 40 exhibitions for galleries and museums. His curatorial endeavors include a survey of work by Joan Wallace and a group exhibition of abstract painting entitled The Painted World.
