Amada Cruz has held curatorial positions at the Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Lannon Museum, Wisconsin; and recently came to Chicago from her position as associate curator at the Hirshhorn Museum, Washington, D.C. She is currently the Manilow Curator of Exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Cruz just finished installation on an Options 50 series featuring the work of Beverly Semmes and was responsible last year for The Gary Simmons Project. Other curatorial projects have included Jac LeirnerTim Rollins and K.O.S.: Animal Farm Alfredo Jaar Christian Marclay Dennis Adam Culture and Commentary: An Eighties Perspective, to name a few.

Cruz earned a BA in fine arts and political science from New York University.
