Curator Adrian Notz (b. 1977, Zurich) studied Fine Arts at the University of Arts in Bremen and Theory at the Zurich University of the Arts. He is director of the Cabaret Voltaire, a site pivotal in the founding of the Dada movement in the early 20th century. In his lecture “The Next 100 Years of Dada: Cabaret Voltaire as Gesamtkunstwerk” Notz emphasizes the historical dimensions and crucial concepts of Dada to illuminate how they may be applied to contemporary artistic practice. Notz also discusses the past 100 years of Dada and how that relates to the Cabaret Voltaire as a Gesamtkunstwerk, or a total work of art, as well as its implications for the future.
