Splitting his focus between his studio work, which is mostly painting, and projects that deal with how art is disseminated, Adam Simon continually develops new contexts for the actualization and experience of contemporary art. His project Fine Art Adoption Network is an online commission sponsored by Art in General. Fine Art Adoption Network uses a gift economy to connect artists and potential collectors. This means acquiring an artwork without purchasing it, through an arrangement between the artist and collector. Fine Art Adoption Network s goal is to help increase and diversify the population of art owners and to offer artists new means for engaging their audience.

Simon obtained an MFA from Milton Avery Graduate School of Art at Bard College, New York. He was the founder and co-director of Four Walls, an artist-run forum/exhibition space, from 1984 to 1998. Simon and Four Walls have appeared in various publications including Art News, The New York Times, Art (Germany), Documents, and Zing.</
