Garden for a Changing Climate joins Sweet Water Foundation‘s First Annual Juneteenth Celebration, commemorating this important historical event while centering on forms of radical reconstruction through urban farming. This event brings together community partners in Washington Park for a day of programs, including arts & crafts, health & wellness activities, performances, cooking demonstrations, and much more.
Juneteenth Celebration Activities
- Performances by: DJ Kwest_On, Corey Wilkes, Onye Ozuzu + Project Tool, Peck Elementary student performers, and the International Capoeira Angola Foundation – Chicago
- Workshops: Printmaking, woodworking, seed bombing, button making, PROtest banners
- Vendors: Natural foods by Inner + Sanctum Wellness and Barbara Pillow, Designed objects by Donzel Gordon
- Sweet Water Information Session and Site Tours
