Julia Klein’s work has been exhibited in solo and two-person exhibitions at Vox Populi (Philadelphia), Sidecar Gallery (Hammond, IN), Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, and the International Museum of Surgical Science (Chicago). Group show venues include Songs for Presidents (Brooklyn), Elaine L Jacob Gallery at Wayne State University (Detroit), Passenger (Detroit), Threewalls (Chicago), Gridspace (Brooklyn), and Shirley Fiterman Art Center at Borough Manhattan Community College (NYC). In addition to a fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center, Klein has been a DEPE Space Residency at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, a researcher-in-residence at Sitterwerk (St Gallen, Switzerland), and a fellow in the Terra Foundation Summer Residency in Giverny. She received a BFA from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Sculpture from the Bard College Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts. Since 2009, she has run Soberscove Press, which produces projects with artists and art-related materials that fill a gap in the literature or are difficult to access.
