Fluid Entanglements is a film screening curated by Robyn Mericle presented in conjunction with our current exhibition, All have the same breath. The films in this lineup explore water and the natural landscape as lived, material realities inextricably intertwined with—not separate from, or merely subject to—human history, politics, and culture. These films help us to reimagine the material and emotional connections between humans, plants, and animals throughout history and into the future.
As the reality of an unavoidable ecological crisis and transformation sets in, the stories, visualizations, and actions that are depicted in these films help open up new strategies for coping with climate change.
