Sarah M. Dreller joins the Society of Architectural Historians
The history of architecture has much to teach us about ourselves and each other. Fortunately, the Society of Architectural Historians has hired Sarah M. Dreller (PhD, AH) as its Humanities Research Analyst, a newly created position supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Dreller will be charged with collecting data to help the School of Art & Art History and the Mellon Foundation understand the current status of architectural history in higher education in the United States, part of a 21-month study of the state of the field of architectural history.
Dreller is a Chicago-based architectural historian and humanist whose research focuses on architecture and modernity in the context of the scientific and industrial revolutions of the late 18th century. Founded in 1940, the Society of Architectural Historians is an international nonprofit membership organization that promotes the study, interpretation, and conservation of architecture, design, landscapes, and urbanism worldwide.
