Conceptual artists and collaborators Jennifer Allora (born 1974) and Guillermo Calzadilla (born 1971) combine a multidisciplinary practice that includes sculpture, performance, architecture, drawing, photography, and community collaborations with an extensive variety of interests ranging from science and philosophy to politics and social awareness. Often interactive, their projects use mundane spaces such as city plazas and sidewalks as sites for individual and collective expressions.

Allora & Calzadilla have been working in collaboration since 1995 and recently had solo exhibitions at The Americas Society, New York (2003); Lombard-Fried Fine Arts, New York, NY (2003); INOVA, Milwaukee, WI (2002); and the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, CT (2002). They have participated in several group exhibitions, including Away From Home, Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, OH (2003); How Latitudes Become Forms: Art in a Global Age at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (2003); Landmark at the Escuela de Artes Pl sticas, San Juan (2003); Zoning at The Project, New York, NY (2002); the VII Bienal de La Habana, Cuba (2000); and Other Worlds at ARCO Project Rooms, Madrid (2000). Allora & Calzadilla divide their time between Cambridge, Massachusetts and Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Allora studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Richmond. She was also an artist in residency at the Whitney Independent Study Program and MoMA/PS1 National Studio Program. Guillermo Calzadilla studied at the Escuela de Artes Pl sticas, San Juan and Bard College and was an artist in residency at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and MoMA/PS1 National Studio Program in New York.
